Flyer for the third installment of Mosaics

Last Saturday, June 1st, we collaborated with Natasha Ridley and Moe Abugan of the Artists Building Community Project to debut some of our premium cold brews at Mosaics III: A Community Event for Art and Conversations on Policing at the Malcolm X Library. This event provided an opportunity for community to gather and discuss the complex issue of policing not only as an action upon us, but an act within and between us. Each artist spoke to the theme through poetry, dance, and or another form of art. Cafe X will host these types conversations in our NEW co-operated community space focused on the head, heart and soul of our community. We’ll be sharing details about our partnership in the weeks to come.

While talented artists performed onstage, we served some amazing desserts from SWEETStruck SD and three new cold brew drinks from our menu: the Mint Condition Mocha, Salted Caramel Latte, and the Coconut Thai Latte.

In Cafe X fashion, we had tasting comment cards to get feedback from folks at the event. All drinks received great reviews but most people liked the Salted Caramel and Mint Condition Mocha best. As guests came in, they grabbed info sheets about our Community Empowerment Center partnership for the head, heart, and soul (We will be blogging about that in detail SOON) and signed up for our e-mail list!

There is so much more where that came from ya’ll. Over the next few months we will be preparing to open in a co-operated space with two very, special nonprofit partners to focus on whole-person wellness in our community. Did we mention those details will be coming soon :)

In the meantime, stay involved by following us on Instagram, like us on Facebook, and donate on PayPal. However you can do it, every little bit of support counts.
